FAQs
Will my bees consume more honey if they are being heated?
This is a very common question, after years of research we have found that your bees do not consume more honey when they're being heated. This happens because your bees expend a lot of energy when they're trying to stay warm, and so if they don't need to worry about staying warm, they end up consuming fewer calories, and often consuming less honey throughout the entire winter.
Where should I place my HiveHeater?
The HiveHeater should be placed directly below your highest brood box—whether that’s a deep or medium box.
If you’re running a single deep setup, we recommend adding one or two empty brood boxes below your bottom board to create enough space for the HiveHeater to sit and function properly.
This placement ensures optimal airflow, even heat distribution, and helps maintain ideal hive temperature and humidity during winter.
How does the hiveheater lower the humidity inside the hive?
By increasing the airflow inside of the hive, humidity is decreased
Does this product work with all Hive sizes?
